People Who Love Thailand

Ummm.. what part of Buddism is this?

http://www.bangkokpost.com/multimedia/vdo/228026/monkey-magic

since thailand has a majority of Buddhist it just boggles my mind that they incorporated so many ... questionable religious practices. Many practice Hinduism and collect amulets blessed by monks... with images of many variable Hindu gods.  I am not really saying anything is wrong with either religions but to me its kinda like combining Christmas and Halloween.  They are two different things.  Ahhh... thats why I love Thailand.  Very few things are taboo.  Actually you would be surprised to what is.  For example its taboo to take pictures of celeberitys smoking because they dont want their parents to find out.   Serious.  Hmmm... i think i just got an idea for blackmail.

THE LINK
Actually i found this site that seem to have beaten me to the punch line.  Grrrr...
Another Thing Thais Are dreadfully afraid of are Black People.   This stereotype is dominate in the stores.  There is NO cream, lotion, deodorant, anything you apply on the skin... it is ALL whitening.  i cant find anything that doesn't have whitening power in it.  AND if you do find one.. its double the price.  Or its leftovers from a Westerner.

Funny Thai Ghost.

i have never met a population of people more scared of ghost than Thai people.  They seriously have a ghost for everything.  And most of them would never dare go into a haunted house. I hear ghost stories from Thais all the time.  Even some plainly obvious things like birds in the attic scares the life out of most Thais. Or a car drives by... oh noo.. a ghost... . Once there was a dying little girl on the side of the road begging for help... and no one came.   It was a busy street to.  But they were afraid it was a ghost begging for help.  Come on people!  really? I poop you no, folks. i poop you not.

Secret Thai Recipies (First finding a list.)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Thai_dishes

I love Thai food.  So the first thing on my list of all great things here in Thailand MUST be its food.  I have looked around and find that Wiki had a pretty extensive list. Come on, name me one Thai dish that you don't enjoy?  (Actually, I am sure I can name a few.)  But what is the real secret of food they make here? Why is it that when i put that Pad Thai in my mouth, I seem to crave only more?  Its not just the spices that you put in. Its the blend of flavors.  In almost all thai dishes there is a blend of sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and spice.  Over the next few day I will focus on the elements in the Thai food.

First off, let me make it very clear about something.  Its called "fishsauce". Westerners hate it. It stinks. I don't blame you. I tea spoon if that stuff would make anyones stomach hurl.  Now, try taking a equal portion of fish sauce, sugar, lime, and/or maybe some peppers. Now its quite palatable.   This is the basics or i dare say the foundations of your favorite Thai dish.

I love thailand.

There are so many other places in the world that I can be. But I have chosen to not only stay here but to be here. As a child my parents moved from place to place, causing a difficult childhood.  I have never lived anywhere longer than 2 years before the age of 23. (Correction, I lived I Hong Kong for 3 years.)  Thailand is my home. My looks alone blend me right in.  I love the crazy wild west feelings I get when I go downtown. I love the food. I love the colorful people.   Don't get me wrong. This place does have some huge flaws.  But with the right attitude, wit, and charm, you can get away with almost anything. :)
